Neptunes go through the motions

Neptunes’ second league outing against Ta’ Xbiex in the preliminary round was a formality. The lads never had to extend themselves when beating their opponents comprehensively. They churned out the goals regularly, with eight names appearing on the scorers’ statistics.

As usual Steve Camilleri was the prime mover when he struck six times, with his brother Jordan netting four. The others came from Niki Lanzon, Michele Stellini and Tamas Molnar with a hat-trick each. Andrew Zarb Cousin and Miguel Zammit, twice each and Timmy Agius who completed the scorers’ chart.

The absentee from this list was Peter Biros who once again sat out on the substitutes’ bench for the entire duration of the match due to a slight indisposition.

The task was easy enough and only served as a training spin for our players. Their clear edge helped them increase their margin of victory, with fewer goals coming in the latter session when Sergei Markoch used the thinner edge of the squad, at times simultaneously.
